American Bully

American Bully is fairly a new breed of companion and show dogs recognized by United Kennel Club since 2013.  This breed also goes by the names American Bully pit or just Bullypit. Its athletic build and muscular body has increased demand for it around the world. 

A very reliable animal courageous too, that is American bully for you.

 

Temperament

Do not get fooled by the bulky and muscular looks of the American Bully. It is as gentle to your kids as a toy teddy bear could be. Happy, extrovert and confident dog, it will make efforts to please you always. Because of its ancestry, it is highly intelligent and can be trained for varieties of tasks.

 

Physical traits

Short, glossy coat, stiff body, this dog is of medium height, with high set ears, broad skulls, eyes in all colors and jaws well defined.  Life expectancy of this breed is 8 – 12 years

Basic maintenance

  1. Food

This breed should be fed high quality food and lots of clean water. The diet should include the right amounts of vitamins, antioxidants and proteins.   Puppies need constant nutrition.

  1. Exercise

American bully dogs love the great outdoors.  They are highly energetic and need to run and play a lot.  Walking 1 hour every day will keep them in good health. They will love intensive exercise but first check for ligament injuries, arthritis and problems with joints and bones before giving them intensive exercise.

Mental exercises could keep the highly intelligent creatures in good stead.  Train well from young age.

  1. Grooming

This breed has short hair and hence you will not encounter any grooming issues. Use a bristle brush when required.  Give a dry shampoo bath and use chamois to maintain the sheen on the coat.

  1. Health

Some diseases that this dog is prone to are Demodicosis, Hip Dysplasia, cataract, Atrophy, Gassiness and Hypothyroidism.
